Hello! My name is Mai. I'm from Kyoto, Japan. These are some of the most popular recipes in Japan. They are healthy and easy to make. Most of them take 20 minutes or less to prepare. Itadakimasu! (Let's eat!)

"Culture Day" at my son's (13) school tomorrow. Everyone is bringing in food, we're making this for him to take. Leaving out the ham though. He says some of his friends are vegetarians.

I use a type of rice from Kyoto called "Kyoto Mai" (京都米). That may be hard to find. A good, famous brand of Japanese rice is Koshihihari. (All Japanese rice is short grain.) Hope that helps!

I like your fried rice recipe a lot. May I ask what rice you are using. I have been making my own fried rice for about 2 1/2-3 years but recently my rice hasn't been coming out right and I'm not sure what I changed to make it come out different but I'm thinking may be the rice I'm using. I use a mix of medium and long grain rice. Any Help will be appreciated.
